Plastic periodontal surgery - applications and limits
Plastic periodontal surgery is a rapidly developing field of dentistry. As opposed to „classical" dental approach which focused on managing mainly hart tissues (enamel, dentin and bone), plastic periodontal surgery works with living, soft and renewable tissues (gingiva, periodontal ligament, keratinized tissue). This presents a wholy new direction of thinking where the possibilities still are unknown and evolving rapidly.
The presentation wil mainly focus on basic principles of soft tissue healing and clinical techniques using this basic knowledge in daily practice. Root coverage, ridge augmentation and other indications will be described. Soft tissue manipulations around implants also will be mentioned.
